Happy St Patrick's Day from the Seperskys! We had a fun day wearing green and pretending to dance like the "fancy girls dance." It's always amusing to see people's reactions when I make a big dal about wearing green and celebrating. Most people around here know us only as THE SEPERSKYS and would never think that we are Irish. So I tend to overdo it just a bit.

Chris took the girls to a St Patrick's Day event to watch some Irish dancers while I was at work on Sunday . When I asked Katherine if she danced with the dancers, she said "No, the wady tode us to give a hoot, a how-wa, or a cwap, so I just cwapped for the ones in the fancy dresses wif twiggy hair."
(Translation, the lady told us to give a hoot, holler, or clap, so I clapped for the ones with the twiggy hair.) She misunderstood the idea of a wig, and just thought the name of their hair was "twiggy hair"

So another year and more green things. Now it's time to pack the shamrocks and pull out the Easter eggs. Hooray for spring!

Another day, another trip to see our pediatrician. Today it was Maggie, who got up from rest time wailing in pain and holding her right ear. Perhaps just to make me feel guilty, she told me that it had been hurting during rest time, but since I said they weren't supposed to talk or get up until I told them it was OK, she just waited an tried to cry quietly until it was time to get up.
Ouch.
So a quick call to the office and it was sure - we've missed you - it's been a week since you were here!
A not so quick trip to the office (with all 3) proved Maggie had reason to cry, both ears, severely infected, and another round of antibiotics for her.
The day wasn't all doom and gloom though. Maggie came skipping home from school to report she had won a B.E.N award. I forget what it stands for, but her teacher nominated her for "managing her impulsivity" how funny is that? Maggie's been trying to win an award all year. Other kids have gotten it for being nice, or cleaning up without being asked. She has come home more time than I can count wondering why she hadn't gotten one yet since she helps and listens etc. This was a BIG day for her. And I especially get a kick out of "managing your impulsivity" as that is a phrase her teacher uses often enough that Maggie attempts to use it on Katherine. Cracks me up every time!
Katherine's excitement for the day was planting a seed at preschool and bringing it home. She has looked at the little pot about every 5 minutes to see if anything is growing yet. She also tried to read the seed a story. Let's hope Peas are fast growers - because I'm not sure how many days we can look at just dirt!
Abby's news is that it was warm enough to wear a regular jacket today instead of a full snowsuit - Hooray! She babbled more than usual in her car seat and there was the constant sound of jacket swishing and feet kicking seat. She can finally move her arms and legs while in her seat and she is thrilled! I also tok this video of her scooting along the hallway today. She was actually going back and forth chasing the girls, who kept moving to get away from Abby. Poor Abby must have gone back and forth about 15 times. She didn't mind, she just wanted to be part of the big kid action!
Over the weekend we took advantage of the first sunny, "warm" ( 42 degrees) day and went to a local park. There was still more snow than we expected, so we didn't last too long, but it was nice to be out!
2 weeks ago we celebrated PopPop's birthday in Evanston. Unfortunately, Abby's dinner didn't agree with her and we had to make a quick exit just as dinner was served. But we were happy to be there for at least part of the celebration!

It's been a crazy week, dealing with Strep throat last week and some other bug (possibly strep, sinus infection, who knows) this week. (Maggie last week, little girls this week.)

Yesterday I spent a quiet hour in the afternoon going through bins of clothes, sorting what fits, who it fits, which season it belongs to, etc. I found some things for Abby that I had almost forgotten about, and suddenly she has a new wardrobe.

One of the outfits was purchased by Gram, for Maggie, and was featured in one of Maggie's more memorable videos, exactly 5 years ago, she was 16 months old.

After we watched that video, the girls wanted to watch LOTS of videos from that website. The first one they chose was This one, no joke. Katherine, at 17 months old, wearing the same outfit. (incidentally that video was taken in the weeks just before our move, life was CRAZY!)

So we turned on the video camera and captured Abby, in the same outfit, at only 10 months old. She doesn't sing, speak, or even walk yet, but it's still entertaining. Enjoy!
